Assessment of Tomato Recombinant Lines in Conventional and Organic Farming Systems for Productivity and Fruit Quality Traits

It is estimated that more than 95% of organic agriculture based on crop cultivars were bred for the conventional high-input sector. Most selections made through breeding programs and lack important traits required under low-input conditions. Hybrids are most common type used in tomato because heterosis. In tomato, continuous selfing enabled homozygosity to exploit favorable additive genes, resulting so-called inbred vigor. This paper presented possibility express vigor at a level equal or greater hybrid when cultivated low input The evaluation recombinant lines produced classical reverse from four F1 single cross hybrids was done low- farming systems. results show that, following appropriate process early generation selection conditions, it possible produce lines, demonstrating yield potential fruit quality. These genetic materials can stand as new dynamic intended cultivation organic, low-input, depending their performance different systems later stages evaluation.
